Fast Forward

There were a few bands around at the time whose members were in regular contact, both socially and musically. This led to a few bands breaking up and reforming under a different banner, with one or two new members, and a slightly different direction musically. Fast Forward came out of Retreads, who in turn evolved out of Thumbs Up. The common threads were, Peter Farley (guitar) Michael Boundy (Bass) and Ray Shepherd (Drums). These three also teamed with Andrew Tanner (guitar) who went on to form Tall Stories, which then became Seven Stories, with Michael Boundy, Jeff Algra, and Glyn Lehmann.

Fast Forward added two new members to an established lineup. Stephen Fewell played guitar and sang in this outfit alongside Peter Farley (also on guitar) Michael Boundy (Bass) and Grant Pearson (Drums). Stephen blew in from Queensland, recorded a solo album, blew out to Melbourne and got married, and is now living and working in China. He continues to play and write music and has a sizeable fan base online. Fast Forward played original songs with a few covers thrown in for good measure and played several gigs before eventually breaking up and reforming as Retreads.
